Video Game Movies
Traditionally, any movie based on a Video Game will suck (Super Mario Brothers, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and its sequel) On top of that, video game movies that didn't suck don't always make money (Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within) and only a few have been both quality and profitable (Resident Evil). However, despite this trend I find myself being really excited by a few game titles that have been optioned for the big screen.
Here's the top three coming to us hopefully in the next 2 years.

1. Fatal Frame - The scariest game in existence is being made into a movie. They have nothing but brilliant source work (And somehow Spielberg is attached to this, but surely not as director), and I can't imagine how they could screw up this game's conversion to the screen. Another plus, is that Dreamworks is in charge of the movie, and they did such a good job with The Ring that I am confident in their potential. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the game, it is the story of a young woman and her brother as they investigate an old mansion that is haunted by the victims of a bizarre chinese ritual. It is too scary for me to play, and the sequel comes out in a few weeks which will surely ruin at least one good night of sleep.

2. Devil May Cry - Capcom recently sold the rights to this one, which should be like Underworld but good. I would expect some kickin' special effects for this story of a half-demon/human who fights evil with guns blazing and a collection of real nice swords. I'm not a huge fan of the game myself, but I see good things in store for the movie adaptation.

3. Resident Evil: Apocalypse - I have been hyping this for awhile, and since the first one was so good I have some hope for this to be another awesome zombie flick. This one is supposed to be based more closely on the game, and as such should be pretty enjoyable. And if you didn't see the teaser trailer be sure to check it out on the "Trailers" link on the right.
